Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.
Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!
Join our P&C
New members are always welcome at MVPS. If you would like to join the P & C come to the front office for an enrolment form or come to the next meeting.
P&C meetings
MVPS P & C meet once a Term in the school Community Room
Volunteer at our school
We involve parents in many areas of school activity. Notes from individual class teachers are usually sent home at the beginning of the year asking for your support with these various activities. If you have enrolled your child during the year, please ask your child’s teacher if you can help with any activities.
Parent helpers must sign in at the front office upon arrival and sign out on departure. We ask that parent helpers have either, a Working With Children Check and a Screening Request Form (Good for 5 years) or fill out an Appendix 5 (good for 1 year) and provide 100 points of ID. Ask the office staff who will be more than happy to help you. All of the above is to protect your child. At Mount Victoria Public School our children’s safety is always our first priority.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- helping in the canteen
- getting involved in the P&C
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days and other school events
- helping supervise excursions.
